Sitting Shotgun

I don’t like the idea of moving backwards
But when there’s nothing new that’s going on
There’s just a lack of drive that pushes you forward
So you fall right back to that same girl
Who broke your heart with no clue of what was going on
When sliding down a slippery slope you just gotta try to grab a hold
Of anything really that can stop your fall
While slippery people skate around you with a giant grin and mocking eyes
Cause they love this so much but you just wanna cry
I can’t help but feeling lost, you’re just so confident if throws me off
But all I want to do is wallow in self-pity, cause you crushed me yesterday with no recollection of doing such a thing
Don’t worry about me you’re easily brushed off
Who am I kidding
I can’t figure out the way you swing
And ultimately what it will mean for me
As I sit here wondering
What could have been if maybe
I had gone about this a little bit differently
Sitting shotgun on the way to Pittsburgh

Eye To Eye
04:04

Just last Friday night I dragged you home
You could hardly stand fell right in the snow
You needed me then, it was so obvious to them
Cry on my shoulder sure but
When the sun comes up we’re just like before
You and I don’t see eye to eye about anything, anymore
And I lost myself a little too much this time, this time
Your head’s in the clouds, the rain’s coming down I just can’t escape
And I’m trying to walk away one step at a time, at a time
It’s like a broken fairy tale, like one of those originals
Where nothing’s right when the story ends, no happy ever after
No flawless romance, let’s just get back in the car and drive to the sand
Feel it between our toes without a care in the world and without all the snow
You and I don’t see eye to eye about anything, anymore
And I lost myself a little too much this time, this time
Your head’s in the clouds and the rain’s coming down I just can’t escape
And I’m trying to walk away one step at a time, at a time
No one can tell you how you’re supposed to feel
No one can tell you whether or not it was real
I know there’s a place in between
Biting my tongue and telling you flat out what I mean

Ten Feet Tall

You’ve got your shield up girl
I’ve seen this shit before, I’ve seen this shit before
You put your smile on the way you put your make up on
Quick and to the point, oh wait you missed a spot
You scribble your feelings down, the way that I am right now
Get that rhythm down, oh get that rhythm down
Nothing will change I’m sure we’ll end up parting ways
Yeah I’m pretty much un-phased, I’ll see you some other day
From way up there, we must look so small
I mean for anyone who feels ten feet tall
That guy over there with his acoustic guitar
Must seem completely irrelevant and not at all
Not at all what you’re looking for, cause that low hanging fruit just eliminates the challenge and it’s apparently far too easy to make any sense at all
What are you doing girl are you completely blind, one day that fruit will fall and you’ll be way up in the clouds wishing, wishing you were laying on the ground
You missed a sign, it was calling your name
But now it’s too late, and you can’t turn around
You’ve got one more chance, I swear that it’s your last
I’ll never once look back, I can promise you that

Bombardment
04:04

I heard its five o’clock somewhere
But why can’t that place be here
Lord knows I could use a break
From this constant torment of things
I just need a way to release
Let’s run away from here
We’ve got nothing to lose
Except everything we don’t want to prove
Run around til I feel faint
I’m spread way to thin
Afraid that I will fly away
I want to feel grounded again
And scream I’m just a kid
Knowing the world’s a mystery and not knowing, not knowing how it ends
Let’s run away from here
We’ve got nothing to lose
Except everything we don’t want to prove
Let’s run away from here
Let’s wipe the slate clean
Forget all that you’ve seen
